Homefront 101 Multiplayer Tips Video
Random Tips for Getting Started:
- Pay attention to the game SETTINGS. Audio/Video/Controls - I turn in game sounds to the max and turn off the music. Depending on your TV settings you may wish to turn up the gamma for video settings. I have mine maxed out and this allows me to clearly see in darker areas of a map where it may be hard to see an enemy hiding in the shadows. Players also need to adjust their sensitivity to where they feel comfortable. Better players usually have higher sensitivity settings to allow them to turn quickly in battle.
- Most players focus solely on visuals and neglect the sound in game. Pay attention to the info that the soldiers call out in game. The AI will alert players to enemy armor in the area, bases being captured and much more. Fight with your eyes AND ears. Listen for these key call-outs in game.
- Don't be scared to use the drones and vehicles in Homefront. Knowledge is power and practice makes perfect. Play with all of the toys in Homefront to learn how each is useful in battle. Many players find something they enjoy like Hellfire Missiles and then fail to really try out other features in the game. Try something new and you may find the grass is indeed greener on the other side. Players who have only played non vehicle first person shooters may not feel comfortable doing anything besides being a foot soldier, but I encourage players to try out all of the features in the game.
- Take the time to set up each class (Load-out) completely. With Homefront there are default classes but each one can be fully customized with any weapon in the game. Go through and take the time to set up each individual class and make sure that you use up every available "Perk Point".
Homefront Class and Customization Best Loadouts
- Go for the objective in Ground Control. Capturing bases will give players a decent amount of Battle Points.
- Retreat FTW - If your team is losing by a large margin in a round of ground control, run back towards where the next bases will spawn so that when the round ends you will immediately begin to capture the new objective. The same tactic can be used if your team is easily winning a round - sneak behind enemy lines and be prepared to steal a base from the enemy.
- Burn Battle Points - I like to have a class setup for near the end of a game that can allow me to use up all of my Battle Points. This class features Penny Pincher / White Phosperous / and Hellfire. If I see the end of the game is coming soon then I will switch to this class and call in airstrikes for easy fast kills.
- Suicide sometimes is necessary. Pull out a grenade and just hold down the throw button to easily suicide in game. There are a couple of reasons why one would want to suicide in game. Operating a drone and find yourself far from the action; Need to switch classes or call in a vehicle.
- DEFEND: How many times do you see a game play musical chairs with the bases in Ground Control? Capture a base and stay to defend it to pick off enemy soldiers walking in to take the objective.
- Stay Mobile: The game features a kill-cam so it usually doesn't help to camp in one spot. Sooner or later the enemy is going to get tired and pick you off.
