I say bring it on!

BUT....the big question is: What does this tell us about the next generation of console launches/releases?

Too soon imho. BF3 was a fiasco with what was promised and what was delivered. THe CoD model has started to be implemented in the game play and now it seems DICE is just gonna pump out titles like CoD too. Take some good time to make a good game, instead of pumping out glitchy, buggy, semi-destructable, doesn't matter if you play for months they'll just nerf it and you have to get used to it all over again game.

But we are talking at the end of 2013 - which would be 2 years from its release date of Oct 11....You think that is too soon?

I'm pretty sure that I've read somewhere that dice planned to have BF3 last at least a good 3-4 years. with the beta for 4 coming out in 2 years, the full game will probably come out pretty close to that....guess that's ANOTHER promise broken by dice. -__- (i think it was game informer, but not sure, i just know that i've read it somewhere as an statement from the developer.)

I think it's way to soon for BF4. It should be Bad Company 3 coming out soon not BF4.

By the time all the add-ons are released it will be less than that. I guess it depends where you start the counting the days. From original release or last expansion pack? I most likely won't have much completed with the game add-ons to switch to another game.

We got early acces to BF3 Beta with the previous MOH too, and that took pretty long. I think BF4 won't be released until 2014.
