TDM Uses an awesome hold the flag mechanic, arena 5v5 is hella awesome with 2 or 3 good players or friends, CTF is the grass roots of all tribes games (Shit the game doesnt ever track K/D just kills and w/l)
Its almost a sports game with shooting, the non hitscan set up requiring some thought about where and how to shoot, Capture and Hold is INSANELY fun. the maps are well laid out classes are balanced game play is not kill kill kill kill kill kill kill centered, you have cappers, defenders, fielders, just cant speak any higher of this games set up.
ALSO ITS FUCKING FREE!! And the 3 starter classes you get are just as balanced as the rest of them they all have th pro's and con's you dont have to drop a dime or you can and get bonus xp (100% xp bonus) VIP status (50% xp more bonus) and gold to buy something faster then grinding the XP for it. I dropped $30 on it after a few games. Its worth full retail.

(No VOIP option in tribes that I know of I use skype or vent for it when playing with friends.)
