I was wondering whether any of you had noticed the difference in handling between the Russian and US choppers. I was also wondering if someone would be able/like to talk with me about it for a video I'm putting together

The US Choppers are blatantly faster and more manueverable on the 360. It has been said the Russian choppers are supposed to have more armor and be able to take more dmg but in practical application I have not seen that to be true. Russia takes an arrow to the knee every time. ^_^

yeah, the Little Bird is much faster and manuverable than the ZW1, I feel like the Havoc is a whale compared to the Viper

Both the Russian fighter jet and the Russian gunship are less maneuverable than the American equivalents. The gunship in particular handles like a freaking boat. Like Incertion said, they're supposed to be able to tank more damage, but it really doesn't matter because the only things that will reliably damage a helicopter are burst damage and those disable/kill in the same number of hits anyway as far as I've seen...

Edit: It was that way in Bad Company 1 as well, but at least there the Havoc was somewhat more manageable and the beefier hitpoints were useful because they could be damaged by small arms and there were no homing missiles. I can't really comment on the BC2 choppers because I was rubbish with them, but BF3's Havoc is definitely at a disadvantage.

In chopper vs chopper the viper wins everytime (all other things equal) imo.

Have anyone managed to circle strafe in a relatively small circle with the havoc? I can't hardly make a u-turn in that thing :)

Being on the PC, I can put in full-on maximum input on any axis because keys are on-off (I've heard that's affected by your sensitivity on consoles - i.e. a low sensitivity won't let you do as dramatic of manuevers even if you move the stick all the way), so I can still do (relatively) sharp turns with it, but the Viper still totally outclasses it.

Since I`ve started using choppers more often, I do see the differences. The Havoc is far less manuverable than the Viper, requiring you to input controls well before you want the action to occur.

It`s funny because this is the opposite with tanks/LAVs. The Russian armor is more manuverable and faster than their American counterparts.

See I wouldn't know about ground vehicles. I'm just terrible with them :P

I've often wondered this, but never tried it. Can anyone confirm that sensitivity settings affect vehicles? Not very good at aiming so I rock a pretty low sensitivity...

I'll try and put together some proof. I'm thinking maybe an obstacle course, but anyone else got a better idea to put handling to the test?

You`ve got a good start; the testimonials of all that have flown both here. I`m sure Mojo can give you his two cents especially.

If i happen to jump into aircraft ive made it a habbit to quickly lower the brightness almost totally down and increase sensitivity all the way up.

The reason for lowering the brightness to to combat the extreme glare in the air (See what I did there ^_^) It also helps to be able to see the otherwise eye straining aiming reticule that is almost impossible to use at medium to bright settings.

Im at 12 service stars in Jets now and part of that is also attributed to switching to ECM Jammer. The reason for that is most AA missiles can be out manuvered with relative ease however the added benefit of ECM jammer is you dissapear from Air Radar completely allowing a quick stealth run on a jet or chopper or giving you that quick few seconds to break from circling with out the enemy jet knowing which way you went.

Just some friendly tips from your less then friendly pal Dbl. Hugz.
