Too Many Games...It's the Economy STUPID
Gamestop reports lower than expected sales to its' investors. There are simply too many games releasing when the economy is bad and gamers are broke. Comment below and post which games you want but can't buy.

I've bought 5 games within the last month or so
Batman: Arkham City
Battlefield 3
Skyrim
Modern Warfare 3
Assassin's Creed: Revelations

and shortly before that i picked up Madden

6 games in about 2 months time. Now i won't buy anything else for like a year.....
I'll probably end up picking up a game or 2 used in 3-4 months but not much. it's just overload at this time of the year. I really do wish publishers would spread out their release dates a bit. I mean it doesn't make sense that they decide they need to be direct competition with each other rather than releasing their big titles a few months apart.

I just recently bought an XBox + TV so I just have Forza 4 (which was in a bundle together with the XBox) and BF3. I really want to get Batman and the Assassins Creed series but most certainly won't be able to afford it any time soon :<

I get most of my games during Steam holiday sales, and in order to get the most bang for my buck that usually means getting some older titles and maybe one AAA title a year (full price or otherwise). I'm currently working my way through Shadow of Chernobyl from the Halloween sale and Pacifist gave me Civ V from the Autumn (Black Friday basically) sale. I'm excited to see what deals will be there for the Christmas season, though, because that's the biggest sale they have of the year where even brand new AAA titles often get some big discounts.

Still, I wish I could get the two Arkham games as well as AC Revelations, but I haven't the money for any more big games.

Well THE RED DRAGON has said it all, I really want to play games like skyrim, saints row etc but I simply cannot afford them. I got my essential Battlefield 3, and my beautifull Modern Warfare loving girlfriend demanded we got MW3 on the day it came out. I may get another game or two after Christmas if my family chip in and get me another Game store card for Christmas but thats obviously not me spending my own money. I speak to a couple of 18 year olds on XBL and one of them has Pre-ordered and bought every single game since Dead island came out. He's not well off or anything infact he is at college and has no part time job, so I asked him, "how can you afford to keep buying these games", and he replied, "I put them on my credit card so I don't have start paying for them yet". I feel a little bit sorry for him as I know what its like to be 18 and have a credit card but man, he is a prime example of how computer games and credit cards are a bad combo.

OK, at the risk of sounding like a shill, what about reserving games and paying for them at 5 bucks a week? Thats what I do, not for every piece of shovelware that comes down the pipe, but for the games I know I'll want, i.e. Skyrim, BF3, Halo, AC revalations. You know these games are gonna be good, and honestly that layaway style is the only way I can get what I want. You can always cancel if you change your mind or the game turns out to be over hyped crap *cough*brink*cough*. I got got on The Hunted too /grumble grumble
