Do you have a platoon to share that is outside the official BS platoon and looking for members? Post them here for all to see! I`ll update the list as you all post them up here.

Be sure to list your platoon name, description, and a link to the platoon page.

Please do not make separate topics regarding platoons outside this thread. They will be locked.

Please do not submit platoons that:

~Contain offensive language
~Contain sexual or other explicit content
~Are racist and/or prejudiced in nature
~Contain any other offensive material

Also, I am going to discontinue posting up random platoons unless the member creating them has a decent history here on BattleStrats. Unless it is connected to BattleStrats, independent platoons will no longer be added to the list unless the founder is a somewhat active member on this site as well.

BattleStrats member-created platoons:

BattleStrats PC Platoon by Holmboy (Holmboy79) and Mister Maf: http://battlelog.bat...55391579911515/

BattleStrats 2nd Wave (overflow platoon for PS3) by Holmboy (Holmboy79): http://battlelog.bat...55391439345004/

BattleStrats 3rd Wave (overflow platoon for PS3) by Holmboy (Holmboy79): http://battlelog.bat...55241194682667/

All traitors to the official BattleStrats platoon will be subjected to courts martial and shot at dawn (blindfolds optional)

Nah, BattleStrats is the Branch of Service. All other platoons are more specific duty stations, lol

That's actually a good idea - we can only have 100 members in a platoon - and our "Official" platoon filled up yesterday...you can still fan us though :-)

I have created a platoon that can be used as overflow for the main platoon.

BS Cavalry Squadron by CavalryScout 81 (me) http://battlelog.bat...55391376676681/

Its a platoon for frontline soldiers, scouts and an overflow platoon for BattleStrats if needed.

Hi Cavalry,

Great idea for an overflow platoon, I was just feeling really disappointed that I could not join the main one because it hit its limit.

I have applied to join yours, hope to see people in game soon.

Cheers

Are these platoons XBox only? I play on PS3 (started a week late due to a log-in/game-code issue, but I'm making up for time lost...). I'm that 'random squad guy' who spots, fire-and-moves, revives/repairs/resupplies, suppresses, and flanks positions. I read on another thread here about the 'stoned guy who knew what he was doing', and thought you were talking about me (until I saw it was on XBox). I'm a disabled vet 51yo IRL; 'pain management' (including smoking) is part of my daily life, but it certainly doesn't get in the way of the mission. Anyway, I'd be interested in playing with tactically-aware squads on PS3. I'm in Eastern Time, PSN id is AllNiteKarl9 (and, as you might infer from that, I'm on from around 9:00PM anytime until 5:00 or 6:00AM).

These are, yes. Here is the official BattleStrats PS3 platoon though: http://battlelog.bat...55391304669799/

This thread is mainly due to the fact that the main Xbox platoon is full (you can only have 100 members in each platoon), and for sharing any other fun platoons you come across. BS has a main platoon for each of the three platforms, as Gremlin linked to you.

I dont really understand how platoons work. If a member of a platoon you are in is online and playing, is there anyway to join them? Or do you need to add the members to your friends list first?

Cheers

You need to add them, because EA is fantastic and thought things through really well (you can't even just chat with other people in the platoon without adding them, so what's really the point?).

Just friended you in Battlelog and will send a PSN friend request when I get home. Once you accept the request in Battlelog, I'll send you an invite to the platoon. I've been trying to play more 9 PM EST - 12 AM lately with all of the stuff I have to do after work. Look forward to seeing you out there!

The addition of platoons is inevitable, but shouldn't we name them BattleStrats like the originals instead of BS so people can search for them in Battlelog? Some websites I've seen have overflow Platoons setup with the same name, with a numerical designation somewhere to show it's "The Second One" or "The First of Many Overflows".

Red,

Can we do a Battlestrats 2nd platoon? Might be a good Idea for this growing community...

join the amored division or the cav sqaud.
That's kind of what they are there for.

However I do think it would actually be a good idea for someone (Red Dragon since it's your site and you're our leader :P ) to make a BattleStrats II platoon
Instead of just separate divisions we should have numbered platoons for everyone and then the specialized divisions can be optional
