I made a similar topic for BFBC2 that seemed pretty popular, and thought I'd make one here too. Pretty self explanatory, post something EPIC that happened with you and your squad/team to show how awesome you are, or post a FAIL that you or someone else committed.

I'll start off:

It was a bright and sunny morning on Operation Metro conquest, our Battlestrats laden team prepared to reap the souls of our enemies, when we found ourselves in a fix.... 100+ tickets down and only C flag. Then, all of the sudden, it all changed. Some crafty armadillo waddled his way into their A base, where our squad was then able to set up shop, allowing us to recapture B. We were pushed back to the B flag, leaving us up 2 flags to 1, where we made our stand, steadily reducing the ticket counter in our favor until finally their suck-siren wailed, and we were victorious.

Oh no someone already started a similar thread!! Now I'll have to post my shame twice!!

Anyway, I just unlocked the Javelin and was playing Conquest on Kharg Island where there are plenty of tanks rolling around to test out my new toy. Sure enough a T-90 comes rolling down the road and I unlimber my olive drab tube of death, go prone for better cover, lock on, fire the missile and then commit suicide as the projectile impacts the ground right in front of me, vaporizing my virtual body. Note to self: DO NOT Fire The Javelin Missile While Prone.

Good idea bringing this topic back, Aqua. The other thread was just for fails, but this is for fails AND moments when you seem to be playing God.

Well I have a moment and a fail.

Yesterday on Davamand Peak, I was driving the armored beast known as the T-90A on a squad with Schism, Conal, and another friend of mine. We had quickly secured C and B and were now upon the enemy objective of A. I had parked my tank at the entrance of the tunnel near the dump truck and began blasting anyone and anything that moved; tanks, infantry, jeeps, you name it. Swapping between AP shells and canister shells, the enemies fell side by side, one after another. My gunner (Conal, I believe) and I kept them out of the main tunnel whilst our infantry took on the side routes. Needless to say, we both finished on top that round.

Fail-wise, it was on Tehran Highway. Big Bad Brint and I were taking a Sunday drive in our LAV-25 APC when I decided to swing around the enemy base. I boosted at the wrong time however, and lost control, getting our vehicle stuck on a cement block. Needless to say, I could not get it un-lodged from the slab. I ended up loosing the APC and a bit of dignity during this ordeal. Lesson learned. :doh1:

I guess my fail would be one of my first helicopter pilot attempts when I jumped into a full transport helicopter and I was the pilot (I guess no one else wanted to be the pilot either because all the other seats were full). So I said screw it and took off. And about 2 secs later it flipped over and blew up.
Cry Havoc, and let slip the dogs of war!

I ganked a javelin off of a fallen enemy and was about to use it against an enemy tank, while in the prone position, but was killed by some foot soldiers before I could get a shot off. I guess they saved me from myself. Who knew you can't be prone anyway! do those things come with an instruction manual???!

I think what happened was that the missile tends to maneuver after being fired and from what I've seen they try to go under the tank to hit it's weakest point. On my first attempt I was pretty close to the tank and so it immediately hit the ground in front of me.

I can show you one I had as a fail.

And a somewhat awesome win for me. And something that made me laugh so hard I couldn't breath.

Whinterfall, I loved the kamikaze jet pilot! I`ve actually seen a lot of that lately. Always funny to see your predator wrap his plane around a building, oil silo, etc...

I'm guilty of doing this to enemy pilots. :Big Grin:

I had a pretty cool win recently on Seine River. There was a big group (like eight to ten guys or so) of enemy Marines pressing to come about a corner that our handful of BRAVE AND VALIANT Ru players were desperately trying to hold onto, as passage through would leave the way open for two of our flags behind us to get capped. After a brief stalemate with some blind grenades from both sides and a couple deaths and respawns from each team, the Marines grouped up and all made a massive push together at once.

I was off by the left wall with my good old RPK-74 set up on an abdomen-high piece of scenery (like a trash bin or something). As they came around the corner, we all opened fire, but we were greatly outnumbered. They had a couple soldiers equipped with defibs in their group, more than we had at any rate, and with so many players to shoot at, it was just feasible enough for them to revive right in the middle of the firefight. I spent my 49-round clip and hit the dirt to reload, and saw that our assault was doing his best to keep us alive, too, but it was too much. I crawled on my belly to poke my RPK around the side of my cover, not even bothering to set up the bipod before I opened fire.

Either our assault did a fantastic revive job, or some fresh reinforcements appeared behind us, but somehow by the immaculate grace of the heavens, the entirety of the enemy fire was directed behind me as my RPK dropped foe after foe. I was able to empty yet two more magazines into the enemy before the firing ceased, crawling back behind cover each time to reload. I stood up, looked around, and realized I was the only one left. I checked the scoreboard - I had scored somewhere around twelve kills in that 20 second window and shot to the top spot. O_o

I firmly believe that if I had not been forced to duck behind cover and reload my gun, the enemy would have singled me out after the first 50 shots. RPK<3

Was in the little bird chopper on Noshar Canals? Full Squad one was recon and lazed another chopper I whipped out my javelin proceeded to target and unleash hell. Instead the javelin exploded point blank in my face. "Bad Luck" The chopper wasn't damaged and my 3 buddys were still flying around.I spawned back in the chopper right as it was hit by 3 missiles 1 from stinger and 2 from another chopper. They got a overkill. Definitely Bad Luck.

I played the support class for 4 hours and pressed the "request ammo" button every time I saw someone because I thought that was the button to offer ammo. Once I accidentally pressed the D-pad to get my C4 out and dropped a box of ammo and realized that I had not been offering anything but asking for everything for many many matches. Felt like a moron but then again I always do until I get the feel of a game. I bet my team members were complaining but they weren't wearing headsets so I never heard it (wear your headset!). When I finally figured it out, I remember offering ammo several times to another player and he never responded. After he knifed me I realized I had been hanging out behind a member of the opposite team and throwing ammo at him for 30 seconds. Obsessed with learning a new function and I can't even tell a US from a RU. I'll get there one day...

So a guy piloting a chopper yells for me to bail and I listened without thinking. I jump out and land by an enemy chopper on their base and of course get the "get back here soldier" comment and red death screen and 8 seconds to live. I know I can't get back in time and as I prepare to die, I notice the red B button and hop in the enemy chopper and steal it. Didn't even know that was possible. So a fail and a moment...much fun.
