They fell because firstly, they had no-one in charge properly, secondnary, they had the equipment to fight back but they did nothing to stop Germany becuse they were too slow but the main reason is that they did not get their asses in gear until 1940 and by the time they started to fight back, they were too late.
They should have got their asses in gear before Germany invaded france and that would have not happened and the allies still would have won the war in any way.

What should have happened was Germany should have been allowed to win World War I. They were winning the majority of the battles of WWI but politics took over and the Allies came out on top. The war was meaningless. If Germany would have been allowed to win WWI or AT LEAST would have been allowed NOT to lose, the German people would not have been so easily persuaded to hate the Jews (as they were the supposed reason for their lose in WWI). Who knows what would've have happened. Maybe Germany would have joined the Allies or something. There were many stipulations but after WWI Germany was forced to have a smaller military force and it's simple physics: Hold anyone down, and they'll fight to get back up. But then of course, we wouldn't have been able to write the history books if they would've won I suppose.
A tree branch that is strong and unbreakable is also flexible and bends to opposing force. Make this branch yourself, and you will be unbreakable.
