soooo forza horizon sounds interesting. always wanted to see what it would be like driving on non race specific roads. Perhaps if there is alot of interconnected roads you could make your own "tracks". Have variables as weather and traffic....hmmm

* * * * * Battlefield 3 Ultimate Wishlist - Guide to Perfection

I have been a huge Battlefield fan since the series first launched on PC. Sadly, so many console players have never played the earlier games in the series so they have no idea just how great the games were before the Bad Company titles.. Thankfully, Battlefield is moving back towards its roots and steering away from Bad Company.

Bad Company has brought some nice features like destructible environments, but it never captured that magical ride of its predecessors like 1942, Battlefield 1 & 2, and 2142. Battlefield 3 is still months away, which is why I feel that now is the time to create the ultimate wishlist so that hopefully DICE will listen while they are still building the game.

Everyone can dream right?

Maps:

Wow, big surprise there I am sure for everyone. Bad Company 2 did a great job of making players bored pretty easily due to their lack of maps for multiplayer. Let's face it, you can only play the same map so many times before it becomes stale and you need something new. It took Bad Company 9 months to develop the first real map pack (Vip Map Pack 7) and also to launch Vietnam.

It is really a shame that Vietnam didn't do as well as it could have had the developers launched it months ago before everyone traded it in or sold it. Battlefield 3 has to have more maps and variety to keep players engaged and wanting more.

Destruction 3.0:

Destruction 2.0 was cool but I want to see more. Breach is an arcade game coming out and it gives players the capability to shoot out individual bricks or planks of wood. On Battlefield, players can put C4 high or low on a wall but it is predetermined where the hole happens regardless of where the C4 is placed.

Battlefield:

The Battlefield experience has always been about the feeling that players are a part of this huge battle experience that is comprised of soldiers and vehicles causing mayhem. Battlefield 2 had huge maps, 64 players, and lots of vehicles including jets. Bad Company 2 dumbed that down and went to 24 players with fewer vehicles. Battlefield 3 should bring back the huge battle experience and bring bigger maps, more players, and more vehicles to players.

Don't tell me it can't work on consoles because MAG has 256 players online and Frontlines Fuel of War brought 50 players with no lag. Graphics may have to be sacrificed a bit but I would rather have a great gameplay experience any day of the week. I am not asking for graphics from the 90's , but I am saying that its possible to have a good game and not have the best graphics in the world. It's not possible to have a good game if you have the best graphics in the world and a terrible gameplay experience.

Variety:

Battlefield 3 should give players the ability to customize their in game persona. Bad Company 2 had 4 classes and all of the characters looked exactly the same. I also think there needs to be more game modes in Battlefield 3 like Titan Mode from Battlefield 2142.

Classes:

There needs to be more than 4 classes in BF3, and some of the classes that are there need reevaluating. For starters, get rid of the health regeneration that was implemented in the Bad Company games. Make it so that players rely on their medics. Another thing that needs tweaking is sniping. Sniping is far too easy and thats why everyone rolls Recon, especially in Hardcore mode. Make sniping take some skill, include wind, more bullet drop etc.

Commander Mode:

Battlefield 2 offered a Commander Mode where players could vote at the beginning of each round and elect a commander for their team. This person had special abilities and responsibilities that allowed them to look down on the field of battle through the eye of a UAV. This person could then coordinate attacks and communicate where enemies or points of interest were on the field. Commanders could also drop in supply crates, call in UAV's, artillery strikes and so on. This was a great feature that I would love to see brought back to Battlefield 3. Good strategic players could have a huge impact on the game and it brought about a deeper level of strategic gameplay.

Squad Leaders should also have added responsibility to where maybe teammates can only spawn on them...something can be done so that these people feel like real leaders.

Matchmaking:

Squads need to be opened up to include more than 4 friends. On top of that, players need to have the ability to talk and communicate with other members of the team who are not in their squad. Bad Company 2 did a great job of rewarding players for teamwork, but its hard to use teamwork when you are limited to talking to 3 other players when in game.

Private matches need to be reworked to include local matches or something to where players don't need 8 people to join into a map and play around. Include a tutorial or room where players can go learn the map and play with the vehicles without having to piss their teammates off in game by trying to learn how to fly during a match.

Ranking System:

Battlefield Bad Company 2 gave players no real reason to want to progress to a rank 50. Players had all guns and accessories unlocked at an early level which meant that players were then playing for stars on their weapons. Give players a reason to become addicted and want to rank up to unlock extra goodies in game.

Theater Mode:

Halo Reach and Black Ops has spoiled gamers with their theater mode. No other game deserves a theater mode more than Battlefield 3. Battlefield games offer moments that are far too awesome to not experience again and have the option of sharing with your friends. It would be a crime not to offer this mode in BF3.
